Okay, clearly the year is more than halfway over. I know I’ve been neglecting this site, so I felt really bad and figured why not update, especially now that I pretty much have an endless amount of time on my hands. I hadn’t signed on in so long that it took me a while to figure out what my password was. But anyway…

I was cleaning out my stash of makeup after having bought a few items from the M·A·C Friends and Family sale. I felt guilty adding to my pile, so I got rid of a few items because they were either old or I just had no use for it and it was something I couldn’t just give away to someone else. What made me really sad was that I neglected my paint pots (I tend to grab my Pearl Cream Colour Base and use it as a base for my eyeshadows) and some of them weren’t closed tightly that they dried up. Three wasted paint pots! I realize that I shouldn’t ever buy them anymore because I’m a creature of habit who prefers using the CCB or shadesticks. I’ll just pick off the stuff and use the jars for Back to M·A·C. At least some good will have come out of those dried up pots.

Another thing I realized was that I had a considerable number of full-size pigment jars and I had not touched pigments in forever either. I really like the portability of eyeshadows since they’re in a palette already. I know I could just press the pigments, but I just don’t want to do that. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know either. From now on, I may just stick to buying some samples if I really want a pigment.

I came across a bunch of drugstore eyeshadows I hadn’t touched as well (and some I just threw away because the pigmentation was nonexistent), so I may do a look with those in a few days. It’s not a promise, but I’ll do my best. I also have a LOT of lipsticks and lipglosses, so I am banning myself from buying any for a very long time. Seeing how much I owned made me kind of disgusted with myself for being such a glutton (and I know there are other people who have even more than me!), so I told myself I shouldn’t be buying any makeup, unless it was for someone else.

Lastly, I will be posting an entry (again, who knows how long it’ll take) about brushes, like what are the essentials for a beginner, stuff like that. I’m hoping I can find the motivation to write. Until next time! Happy 4th of July if you’re in the US!

Talk about cobwebs over here. I haven’t written in forever, I know. Life outside of makeup is quite time-consuming. The only time I ever do a full face is special occasions as work is so casual. I haven’t even bought any make-up in months! It’s not like I’ve lost interest in make-up, it’s just M·A·C hasn’t come up with anything that’s truly “buy-worthy” for me. I’ll slowly ease my way into this whole blogging business again.

I swear I make an appearance here once a month for like three days straight and then it gets quiet again. Sorry for the lack of updates. Work, which can get so stressful I worry about it even when I’m out of there, gets me so tired. I work before 8 AM, mind you, and by the time I’m off, all I want to do is knock out. I haven’t worn a full face of make-up in weeks! All the make-up I wear throughout the weekdays is concealer, foundation, eyeliner, blush, a little bit of gloss (which I don’t bother to re-apply once it goes away), and eyebrow “gel” a.k.a. clear mascara to keep my brows in place (FYI one of the features in anyone’s face that I obsess about are eyebrows). I totally scrimp out on the eyeshadows and mascara. This all takes about 10 minutes, which is great because when it’s that early in the morning, who wants to spend more than that on their make-up? Clearly not I. Hell, I get tired of putting on make-up, I go out without any of it, at least lately.

I also haven’t bought make-up in a while, M·A·C or otherwise, although speaking of M·A·C, they’re having a Friends & Family discount going on from the 11th to the 16th, which got extended tomorrow. I may stop by my local freestanding store after work and see if there’s anything worth getting. By the looks of it [from swatches online], this new color story called “Cool Heat” looks so dupe-able. As much as I love teals and blues, I find it hard to work with the latter, at least on myself. I guess I’ll just have to see.

I’m still moving, but by the end of this week, I should be completely settled in, so maybe I’ll actually be able to squeeze in a video. It probably won’t be a tutorial, though. Everyone and their mamas makes one. YouTube is starting to freak me out with all the crazy people on there, so I may just use my own server to upload the videos.

I don’t know if anyone tried to access the site these past two days, but if you did, sorry if it was down. My web host was doing something on their end that had to be done and something I couldn’t control. I contacted them about it and everything seems to be fixed now. It was for the best anyway. I don’t mean to be a downer and I don’t mean to include my personal life when it doesn’t involve make-up, but I thought maybe at least one person would care (although I don’t want any sympathy; for some reason, I don’t handle sympathy well). My dog that I’ve had for about 10 years died on Monday and I’m still devastated by it, so I don’t expect to update for a few days. Hopefully my head will be clearer then. ‘Til next time.
