Things to note before we get on with the swatches:
- I went to two different M·A·C stores the day this collection came out (March 20): 1) a counter at Macy*s and 2) a freestanding store. The closest one to me is a counter, not a freestanding store, and since I was in a hurry because I had errands to do, I went there first. They ran out of Melrose Mood already, so I didn’t get to swatch it. By the time I went to the second store, it was nighttime (in fact, they were about to close), so there was no point in swatching it [or the other stuff I didn't get to swatch at the first store] and taking a picture of it with bad lighting.
- I didn’t get to swatch the other stuff in the collection because at the Macy*s M·A·C counter, two MAs were hounding me and would not leave me alone. I had one in front of me and one to the right of me, both trying to get me to buy everything when I just wanted to be left alone to swatch and decide. “Are you sure you don’t want to get this? I’m just looking out for you in case we run out.” Yes, I’m sure. If you guys run out anyway, it’s not like I can’t get it online or at another store. There’s at least seven stores within 25 minutes of me, so I know where to find something if you run out of it. And don’t tell me they ran out online already (yes, she told me that!). They were just temporarily out of stock. That does not mean it’s gone. It just means it’s…well, duh, temporarily out of stock, not sold out. Also, I do not like being stared at, especially when one of them who works at a make-up store, mind you, was not even wearing any visible make-up. I’m sorry, aren’t you supposed to be representing the store you’re working for? Sigh. That incident reminded me why I hardly ever set foot in that specific M·A·C. I would rather drive 10 extra minutes to the freestanding store. I’m not trying to be a bitch here, I understand their job is to sell, but you shouldn’t keep pushing, especially when the customer has already told you what she wants to get. I think I was there for 10 minutes tops. I could not wait to get out of there because I felt like I was being suffocated.
Okay, I had to get all that out, so I’m sorry. Now, if you still want to go on, please do.

This is in addition to this post. Now that [I think] I’ve bought everything I wanted from Fafi, I can talk more about the collection as a whole. Overall, I was most impressed by the lipsticks. Despite the fact that they were glaze and lustre finishes, I thought they were pigmented pretty nicely and the colors were beautiful. I’ve never been so impressed by the lipsticks in a collection before. Since I started getting into M·A·C about three years ago (slowly, but surely), in my opinion, Fafi ranks up there with one of the better collections.
My friend and I went to check out M·A·C’s Fafi collection at their pre-release party. The place was packed! The hors d’oeuvres were…interesting, haha, but it was fun. I didn’t get to have a cocktail, though. Ah, well. I would put up pictures of my purchases, but I didn’t buy much earlier. I’ll be getting more the day the collection comes out and I’ll post everything up then. Overall, I’m quite happy with Fafi. I liked more things than I thought I would, which is surprising, but good too (especially for M·A·C). The backs of my hands have swatches, but unfortunately they don’t photograph well, even with me messing with my camera settings. Sorry! I’ll be updating soon, though. ‘Til next time!

I had fun at Target today. See why.
I went to a M·A·C Pro store today to see if they had Bright Sunshine (Pro color) eyeshadow in stock [since the last time I went there, they ran out] and to turn in empties for Back to M·A·C. Unfortunately, I was only able to fufill the latter part of my goals as they were still out of it. They were also out of the other Pro colors I was eyeing, which were Atlantic Blue and Petalescent (I guess I’m moving on to Pro colors now that I have almost every eyeshadow color in the regular permanent line that I want). I asked the person ringing me up when they would get more stuff in stock and all he said was, “Every few weeks,” which, well, doesn’t help that much, but that’s how it goes sometimes.
Despite Bright Sunshine not being there, I couldn’t walk into a M·A·C store without buying anything, so here are the items I purchased (pictures to come when there is better lighting): 1) 211 brush, 2) and 3) eyeshadow refills in Gleam and Idol Eyes, 4) a 15-pan palette (which needs to be fillled! :X), 5) Plush Lash mascara in Plushblack, 6), 7, and 8) Creme de la Femme lipstick and Mattene lipsticks in Classic Dame and Flattering (for my mom and sister, how nice am I? ;)), and 9) Mi’ Lady Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo from Antiquitease/Colour. I got two of the lipsticks free, yay! :D
I will be slowly trying on the items that I bought. I am kind of excited for the Plush Lash mascara. It’s the first M·A·C mascara I bought (given that the company does not have a great reputation for its mascaras). I had a dream about it, though (yes, I dream about make-up and I have been dreaming about it more and more as of late), and it was a good dream, so perhaps it will fulfill my expectations. If not, I guess I will forever be a Dior Diorshow fan.
Moving on, I think it’s funny I bought Creme de la Femme. I swear, every time I go into the store, I think of getting a different lip color, but I always go out with something pink! Next time, I am going to buy a different shade, I promise!
Lastly, yes, you read it right earlier when I said I got Mi’ Lady. I am giving it a chance to see if I can bring out a true red out of it. If not, I’m sure I’ll be able to find someone to take it off my hands. It is a popular LE item after all. I’m hoping I don’t have to go that route, though.
I’m still sad that I didn’t come home with my Pro color eyeshadows because they were sooo pretty, but I guess that just means I’ll have to come back another time!
PS One thing that made my day: While I was paying for my stuff, the lady at the register next to me said, “Did you get your eyeshadows here? Your eyes look so pretty.” That’s so nice of her because I didn’t feel like I had a good make-up day. In fact, I was kind of out of it when I was there.
PPS I just found out that one of my favorite eyeshadows, Greensmoke, also comes in CCB (Cream Colour Base) form (Pro product, though). How cool!!!
