I felt like doing blues and greens. Since I was going for a mermaid look, I would’ve done glitter and gone over the top, but I lack that stuff, plus, I’m not a fan of glitter. Anyway, I love my camera, so I’m just going to blame the lighting as the reason why the colors look different in person than when viewed in pictures. It’s actually more vibrant and more green than blue. Video tutorial can be found here.

I’m not Irish, but why not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day anyway? I used mostly drugstore brand stuff for my eye make-up. Video tutorial can be found here.

I normally don’t match my make-up to my outfit, but today, I felt like it.
This is the shirt I wore (it’s kind of hard to see, but the face of the character is purple):

One reason why I use high-end brand mascaras is because my eyes are sensitive to drugstore brands [or so I thought]. Thus, I stayed away for a while; however, I decided to give drugstore brands another try since I was running out of my Dior Diorshow and I was already at Target anyway. I just so happened to be in the cosmetics section. This time, I decided to avoid L’Oréal because I realized my experiences with drugstore mascara have been with them and those didn’t turn out so well. I decided to grab Maybelline’s Define-a-Lash Waterproof Lengthening Mascara instead (I picked up the waterproof formula without realizing it), not having much hope for it.
I have decent-length eyelashes. They’re not short, but they’re definitely not long either. Also, they never curl. If they do, the curl lasts for five minutes if I’m lucky. My goal has always been to find a mascara that can actually hold a curl. I don’t care too much about volume (if you do, try M·A·C’s Plush Lash) or length (Diorshow works for me).
Well, I am very excited to say that I think I have found my new favorite mascara when it comes to curling. I know it’s actually supposed to be a lengthening mascara, but if it lengthened my lashes, I didn’t notice too much because I was more awed by the fact that my lashes were actually curled and not stick-straight. Define-a-Lash is awesome! The flexible brush is really cool and it may be what helped my lashes curl. Also, I used my Shu Uemura eyelash curler and heated it up for about five seconds using my heater (you can also use a lamp or a blow-dryer) before applying the mascara to my lashes. [Be careful when you're doing this and test the temperature of the curler on your hand first, so you don't burn your lashes.] The curl lasted for hours.
The great thing about this product is that you can find it at a drugstore, so it’s cheap! I’ll try to test it soon to see if it really is waterproof. Yes, it definitely is waterproof. I’ll also pick up the non-waterproof version just because using waterproof mascara all the time can damage your lashes [because 1) it can dry out them out and 2) they could fall out if you tug on them to remove the mascara (if your eye make-up remover isn't very good at removing eye make-up)]. I don’t know if there’s a difference between the two when it comes to the results, but I guess I’ll find out [and let you know]. Anyway, once I can get ahold of a camera (mine’s broken, if you didn’t know), I will definitely post pictures. I love walking out of Target with an inexpensive, great product.
